The objectives of the Association are to foster and promote the development of the art of broadcasting amongst our members; to encourage interchange of information amongst them, and to protect their interests. To that end, the WAB has committed $6,000 annually to scholarships in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. We are working with local associations in Manitoba and Saskatchewan by providing scholarship funds to existing efforts and we have created new scholarships in Alberta.
This year, due to the outstanding support of our members, sponsors and convention guests, we are able to keep registration and membership fees at the same rate as last year. We thank all of our WAB stakeholders for their continued support and encouragement.
Please join us for our 74th Annual Convention from June 6 – 8, 2008 in Kananaskis, Alberta – “Broadcasting…Unlocking Cool” – where we will focus on how broadcasters are perceived by our stakeholders and how we can move forward in broadcasting to attract clients, listeners, viewers and potential employees. Of course, the beautiful backdrop of Kananaskis is a wonderful spot to renew those important relationships in a relaxed atmosphere.
