24 HOUR ROOFTOP CAMPOUT FUNDRAISER IN OWEN SOUND Bayshore Broadcasting Release Bob Wallace - one half of Mix 106's Bob and Diana in the Morning - was part of a unique fundraising radiothon for the Children's Aid Society of Grey County... it was the 24 Hour Rooftop Campout!
Bob spent a full day in a tent on the roof of our radio station. From his lofty perch he broadcast live, collected donations and talked to passers by (and yes, before you ask, he even slept there and did the whole morning show live!). We had a webcam running online, and listeners as far away as Iraq and England followed Bob's progress and sent encouragement.
During the 24 hours, the recorded temperature on the roof peaked at 30 as we raised over $13,000 for the 'Send A Kid To Camp Initiative'.
It was a huge physical and mental challenge for Bob, but another part of the magnificent community service provided by the Bob and Diana Mix Morning Show and Bayshore Broadcasting.
We'd like to thank the local Children's Aid Society and the many local businesses and residents who provided donations, supplies, meals and even a tree and some toilet paper!
