CNW

Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings Inc., through its XM Canada satellite radio service, announced it has achieved 237,500 subscribers as of the end of its second quarter ended February 28, 2007. In an effort to align our definitions more closely with industry norms, our subscriber numbers now include vehicles factory-activated with the XM service whereby automakers have agreed to pay for a portion or all of the trial period service.

Please refer to the Management Discussion and Analysis document that will be filed in conjunction with the Company's second quarter financial results for greater detail on revised subscriber definitions and subscriber counts.

"We have experienced exceptional growth in our subscriber levels this quarter," said Stephen Tapp, president and Chief Operating Officer of XM Canada. "With our aggressive automotive and multi-platform partnerships and successful holiday marketing campaign our subscriber base continues to grow at a pace to reach our target of one million subscribers by 2010."

XM Canada holds 80 per cent market share of factory-installed satellite radios in the automotive sector and XM radios will be available in 115 different vehicle models in 2007. XM Canada is the exclusive music channel provider on Air Canada's fleet that carries 32 million passengers annually. XM Canada is also available on Telus mobile phones, allowing Canadians to access real-time streaming satellite radio programming. These groundbreaking and innovative multi platform partnerships continue to build XM Canada's profile to further grow our rapidly expanding subscriber base.

"XM Canada is the leading Canadian premium digital audio entertainment business today," said Tapp. "We continue to grow our brand and offer subscribers the best-in-class satellite coverage with a unique lineup of 100 channels including the best music, news, talk, comedy, sports and entertainment programming in the country. We are also very excited that as of July 2007, which is in four short months, XM Canada will be the exclusive provider of all NHL games for the next eight years."
