Rick Arnish - Jim Pattison Broadcast Group Release

It is with pleasure that I announce a major corporate management and radio station reorganization in the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group.

Rob Bye and Rod Schween will be taking on new responsibilities on behalf of our radio station cluster on central Vancouver Island and our newly created South Western Alberta/South Eastern B.C. radio cluster, respectively.

I wish to announce the appointment of Rob Bye as our new General Manager / General Sales Manager for Island Radio – CKWV FM/CHWF FM, CKLR FM, CJAV FM, CIBH FM/CHPQ FM effective February 19, 2007. Rob brings over 30 years of broadcast experience in senior management, programming and sales to his new opportunity. Most recently, he has been our General Manager/General Sales Manager in Lethbridge.

Rob has accepted this opportunity with our broadcast group with the same enthusiasm, commitment and winning attitude that he possessed in Lethbridge and Kelowna before that. Rob adds, “I wish to thank the Lethbridge team for the tremendously fulfilling experience of working with them over the past 4 ½ years. Now, I’m truly looking forward to working with our team on central Vancouver Island.”

I’m also very pleased to announce that Rod Schween, our General Manager in Cranbrook/Fernie, has accepted a new opportunity with our group and is taking on the responsibility as General Manager / General Sales Manager of our newly created SW Alberta/SE British Columbia radio cluster - CHLB FM/CJBZ FM Lethbridge, CHBZ FM/CHDR FM, CJDR FM Cranbrook/Fernie effective February 19, 2007. Rod has been in the broadcasting industry for 21 years in senior management roles and has led our team in the Kootenays over the past 8 years to new heights in programming, sales, community involvement and achievement.

Rod stated, “I will always cherish the years I spent in Cranbrook. I've had the privilege to work with many wonderful people at the station and in the community, and I’m very pleased that I will be able to remain involved in the operation there. At the same time, I am very excited with this new opportunity in South Western Alberta. Rob Bye has gathered an outstanding team around him in Lethbridge, and I am extremely honoured to be named as his replacement.” With Rod’s winning attitude and commitment to excellence, the future is bright indeed for our new radio cluster and team.

I also wish to thank Paul Larsen for remaining with our group until a new GM/GSM was appointed for Island Radio and wish him well in his new endeavor as an owner of a new radio station in Lethbridge. His excellent contributions to our group and Island Radio are greatly appreciated.
