And this March 9 at the Fairmont Royal York, the Radio Marketing Bureau's Crystals will show how surprisingly affordable it is. Tickets are now available for Canada's only awards show dedicated to outstanding work in radio creative, and the first major awards show of the year.
It's also the only awards event that rewards creatives for sticking it out on those days they'd rather be flipping burgers - with recognition and cash. The crown jewel of the RMB Crystals - the highly coveted $10,000 Platinum Award for best in show - tops the list of 25 trophies for the work of talented writers, creative directors and producers from both the radio station and agency communities. For those who prefer smart, fast-paced entertainment with their awards ceremonies, this year's RMB Crystals gala luncheon features a new host - comedian/writer Tim Steeves, a triple-Gemini-award-winner and currently a staff writer for CBC Television's number one show The Rick Mercer Report.
The gala, a highlight of Rogers Wireless Canadian Music Week, is also a networking and seminar event. With a focus on the power of writing great radio, the morning sessions will feature international radio legend Chuck Blore, Canada's own radio guru Terry O'Reilly and a surprise, not-to-be missed mystery guest.
