CANADA's ASTRAL MEDIA, which lost out on the bidding to buy TV production company ALLIANCE ATLANTIS earlier this week to CANWEST GLOBAL and GOLDMAN SACHS, reported that fiscal first-quarter revenues rose 7% to C$165.1 million and net earnings rose 9% to C$32.6 million (62 cents/share). EBITDA grew 9% to C$53.1 million.
Radio revenues rose 2% to C$31.1 million, with ad revenues for the company's QUEBEC stations up 3%. |
