BOB WALLACE’S 24-HOUR WINTER SURVIVAL CAMPOUT
Bayshore Broadcasting Release
Mix 106 morning show co-host Bob Wallace braved below freezing temperatures for a 24-hour period all in support of the Children’s Aid Society of Owen Sound. This holiday season there are approximately 90 families depending on the CAS to help them with holiday needs such as meals and gifts. This is in addition to the over 200 children who are in the care of the CAS in our area.
In an attempt to raise donations & awareness, Bob Wallace camped out in a tent on top of a flatbed truck in the Bayshore Broadcasting parking lot from 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 13th until 9 a.m. on Friday, December 14th.
In order to brave the elements Bob required a number of items to help him succeed. As certain monetary milestones were reached Bob was awarded the necessary tools. When $1000 had been collected Bob was given the key to the port-o-potty. At $2000 he was awarded with toilet paper. etc. Other “rewards” included coffee, a heater and a telephone call.
While donations are still coming in and the final amounts continue to be tabulated, the most recent totals saw Bob raise over $22,000 in this 24-hour period. Huge thanks go out to our amazing listeners who came by with donations for the CAS & lots of treats & well wishes for Bob. Many local businesses also stepped up to the plate to help us surpass our expectations.
Congratulations Bob!
