ENERGY 99.3 FM LAUNCHES TODAY SERVING PETERBOROUGH AND THE KAWARTHAS Energy 99.3 Release CHUM Radio announced today the launch of Energy 99.3 FM, the newest radio destination serving Peterborough and the Kawarthas. Energy 99.3 FM hit the air at 12 noon today, delivering Peterborough's only adult contemporary format featuring the hottest songs and artists of today.
“We are very excited to deliver Energy to the Peterborough market,” said Steve Fawcett, VP and GM CHUM Kawarthas. “Our team has worked hard to ensure the station’s format is exactly what our new listeners want to hear – a mix of today’s best music with engaging personalities they can relate to.”
Energy 99.3 FM will feature 35% Canadian content, providing mainstream media exposure to local and national Canadian artists. During its licence term, the station will invest in the development and promotion of Canadian talent, most notably through a $70,000 contribution to the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board for the purchase of musical instruments, musical equipment and sheet music for their music programs.
