BULLARD TO HOST SATELLITE RADIO SHOW

London Free Press

Sharp-tongued Canadian funnyman Mike Bullard is going the way of Howard Stern -- sans the raunchy stunts and fat paycheques.

Bullard, former host of TV's The Mike Bullard Show, announced yesterday he has signed a one-year contract to host a weekday morning talk show on XM Canada satellite radio.

"I'm making what Howard Stern's craft budget is (at Sirius Satellite Radio), so I'd kind of appreciate it if there were no comparisons," Bullard joked.

Mike Bullard Uncensored is set to start Monday on XM Canada's Laugh Attack channel (XM 153), with Toronto-based comedian Judy Croon as co-host.

XM Canada, which boasts 120,000 subscribers, said Bullard will be hosting Canada's first English- language satellite radio morning show.

The show will run Monday to Friday across XM's North American channels for two hours, starting at 7 a.m. with a repeat at 9 a.m.

Producers hope to turn it into a three-hour show by the end of the year, said Bullard, whose prime-time TV show ran for six years on CTV before moving to Global, where it was cancelled within a year.

Mike Bullard Uncensored is expected to include comedy bits, special guests, phone-ins from callers across North America, a live studio audience and topics ranging from news to pop culture.

It will all be live and uncensored with "a lot of freeflow," Bullard said.
