CAB TO APPEAR AT COMMERCIAL RADIO HEARING REVIEW Broadcaster Glenn O'Farrell, President and CEO of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) will appear on Monday, May 15, 2006 before the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) as part of the public hearing on the Review of the Commercial Radio Policy.
Among those who will join Mr. O'Farrell for the presentation are: Rob Braide, Chairof the CAB Board of Directors and Vice-President & General Manager of CJAD/Mix96/CHOM-FM (Standard Radio); Rael Merson, Chair of the CAB Radio Board and President and CEO, Rogers Broadcasting Limited; Jacques Parisien Chair of the CAB French-language Radio Strategy Group and President of Astral Media Radio; and Lilianne Randall, member of the CAB Music Issues Committee and Program Director for Réseau Rythme FM, Cogeco.
The members of the panel will put forth the position of the private radio industry as a whole, based on the CAB's March 15 submission. The CAB's recommendations cover issues including the new economy for radio, contributions to talent development, and Canadian content and French Vocal Music content initiatives.
