Throughout the weeks the staff of FLY FM and Find-A-Car scouted over 700 license plate numbers around the city of Kingston that had the Find-A-Car plate brackets on. Each plate spotted was entered into a draw.
Every weekday between 10am - 4pm a plate number was read on air, giving the winner a chance to call in to win with in 9 minutes and 83 seconds! Here is the best part…the pot started at $5,000 and each day the cash prize was not claimed Find-A-Car Kingston threw in another $200. By week four FLY FM and Find-A-Car where bombarded with hundreds of phone calls and emails from listeners asking, “Is there EVER going to be a winner?” OFCOURSE!!!
On Tuesday March 14th at approximately 3:30pm a winner was found. Steven Smith, a 25 year old student at Queens University who is currently working on his masters was handed a cheque for $10,200 in our FLY FM studios. Steven says he got his bracket from a coworker who stopped into to Find-A-Car to get them each a plate bracket for the promotion. Steven goes on to say “We are both avid FLY FM listeners, when my plate number was announced I had to think about it for a second and check my plate number”. I couldn’t believe they where actually calling out my plate number!”
