REPORT: XM'S INNO NOW CARRIES ADS Tony Sanders – Billboard Radio Monitor
Bear Stearns analyst Bob Peck reports that XM Satellite Radio has started to sell advertising that displays on the screens of its mobile receiver, the Inno.
In a report published today, Peck writes “According to XM's Northeast Sales Manager Paul Trueman, XM has begun selling ad inventory to be displayed on the Inno's color screen. The displays are currently limited to still logos and artwork, but likely may be able to display moving graphics and video clips (via JPEG video).”
Peck mulls the future possibilities this presents when he says “In time, we could visualize [a] push-to-purchase feature that allows for not only an alternative delivery mechanism, but also instantaneous purchases and tracking, especially when it is combined with a return channel via cellular networks or WiFi/WiMAX.” [ Email this article | Return to ByrnesMedia Main Page ]
