SPINCYCLE DIRECT

Independent labels and artists can now deliver singles to radio using the same system as the major labels, cheaper than mailing CD's.

Canada's leading indie music promotions company, Frontside Promotions Group, launched Spincycle Direct, a new company that allows indie labels and artists to look like the majors, at least when servicing their singles to commercial radio.

By utilizing the Spincycle Direct delivery system, which is powered by DMDS/Musicrypt, independent artists are finally able to deliver their songs to radio in a manner more suited to music directors than ever before. The system was created in conjunction with major radio stations in order to eliminate the endless piles of compact discs that arrive every week.

"Without Spincycle Direct, indie artists were forced to mail endless packages off to radio stations without ever knowing if they even arrived on the right desk," says Spincycle Direct marketing head Gary McDonald, "but now they can utilize the same technology as the major labels at a fraction of the cost of mailing CD's."

The system is powered by DMDS/Musicrypt and is available to every major radio programmer in North America. It catalogs every song in the system into a manageable, customized; easy to use database that ensures songs will never be lost again. "Once you've sent a single to a radio station, it stays in their library until you take it out," says, McDonald. "This means that you'll never have to re-send your package again." Of added benefit to the client, not only are they able to track who has received the song, but also who has actually listened to it.
