Apple founder Steve Jobs' press conferences have becomes can't-miss events over the past year or two, dropping the veil of secrecy on his company's latest cool gadgets. Today's Macworld keynote speech was light on iPod/iTunes related news, but did introduce a new accessory that turns your iPod into an old-fashioned radio.
The new iPod Radio Remote adds a wired remote control to any fifth generation or Nano iPod. It also acts as an FM radio turner, which will display station and song information on your iPod's screen. "The iPod Radio Remote combines two great features in one elegant product," said Greg Joswiak, VP of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing. "The iPod Radio Remote is both the best remote control and the best FM radio listening experience for iPod." The remote will retail for $49.
The only other new music news from Jobs came in the form of a new iPod commercial, with music from Wynton Marsalis, which is likely aiming at an older audience than the Gorillaz or Eminem ads from last year.
