NOMINEES ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2006 INDIE AWARDS CNW Canadian Music Week is proud to announce the nominees for the 2006 Indie Awards. Taking place on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at The Docks Concert Theatre (11 Polson Street) in Toronto, The Indies celebrate the best in independent music. Presented by Sympatico.MSN.ca, and sponsored by Max Trax, Eye Weekly, FACTOR, XM Satellite Radio, Galaxie, The SOCAN Foundation, CAAMA, and Chart, this year's Indie Awards show will be hosted by the Trailer Park Boys and feature performances from several of the nominees, as well as Indies Hall of Fame inductees The Pursuit of Happiness and The Parachute Club. Early bird tickets for The Indies are $20 and are available now through Ticketmaster - www.ticketmaster.ca or 416.870.8000 – and on the CMW website, www.cmw.net.
Fans will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their favourite independent artists at www.cmw.net, as of 9:00 AM on Monday, January 16th. The voting polls will be open for four weeks, closing at midnight the night of Sunday, February 12th.
