THE 'CRYSTALS' CALL TOP RADIO CREATIVE FIRST Broadcaster When it comes to the best, the Crystal Awards call it first. Canada's only awards show dedicated to excellence in the medium, and the first awards show of the year, the prestigious Crystals anticipate the top radio creative in the country – and potentially in the world. Last year's big platinum prize winner for 2004 Nickel Festival, Target Marketing and Communication, carried on from a seven-Crystals score to scoop up two golds and a silver at the Marketing Awards, two bronzes at Cannes Lions and numerous other Canadian and global awards.
Find out who wins on March 2, 2006 at the Fairmont Royal York, as the Radio Marketing Bureau presents this year's recognition of Canada's best radio advertising aired in 2005. The annual Crystal Awards gala luncheon is a much-anticipated industry event and a highlight of Canadian Music Week.
The crown jewel of the Crystals – the highly coveted $10,000 Platinum Award for best in show – tops the list of 25 coveted trophies for the work of talented writers, creative directors and producers from both radio station and agency communities.
Along with the gala, the day-long networking event features seminars with well-known industry creative talent Dan O'Day, station imaging expert Nick Michaels, and a panel on effective creative that wins results with Rob Johnston of Corus Radio.
For those who need more reason to come on March 2, the multi-talented, double Gemini-award winning comedian and three-time Crystals host Sean Cullen will share his distinctive take on the power of radio.
