Toronto radio station Z103.5 ran an on-air auction on the “Z103.5 Morning Show” with Scott Fox, Melanie and Dave to give listeners an opportunity to bid on a “VIP U2 Concert Package” with proceeds being donated to the Canadian Red Cross for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Listeners were encouraged to call in and make bids on a “U2 Concert Package” which included a complete U2 CD and DVD library, two U2 t-shirts, a Limited Edition “Vertigo” vinyl and two tickets to their sold out Toronto concert.

April Stocke of Toronto was the successful bidder at $2,575.00.

“Our station wanted to do something very unique in an effort to raise funds to assist those affected by Hurricane Katrina and the U2 concert, being the biggest concert event this year, was a perfect auction item to raise much needed funds for disaster relief”, said Z103.5 Morning Show Host, Scott Fox.

Z103.5 has been running a link of their website since the hurricane struck encouraging donations to be made in support of the Canadian Red Cross’ efforts to assist those affected by this tragedy.
