ROGERS ATLANTIC RADIO STATIONS TO LAUNCH OCTOBER 11TH

CNW

Rogers Media today that their new radio stations in Moncton, Saint John and Halifax are set to launch on Tuesday, October 11th, 2005. Rogers was awarded the licences for the three new FM stations by the CRTC, last November.

News 95.7 in Halifax, News 91.9 in Moncton and News 88.9 in Saint John will follow North America's number one form of radio programming, the highly successful news/talk radio format. These three stations will provide the most comprehensive, local, live and late-breaking news in their local communities.

"On Tuesday, October 11th the communities of Halifax, Saint John and Moncton will wake up to a new source for all their local news, sports, and weather information needs," commented Jim Hamm, General Manager, Atlantic Radio, Rogers Media. "In addition to our daily news wheel, which has been so successful in other markets, twice daily we will broadcast a regional, call-in talk show which will address local, national and international issues and concerns. And our evenings will be filled with sports, sports and more sports, kicked off by Prime Time Sports with Bob McCowan."

Audiences of the new stations will soon become familiar with the idea of a clock-based news wheel. With weather and traffic on the ones, sports at 15 and 45 past the hour and business at 26 and 56 past the hour, listeners will know exactly when and where they can find the information they need.
