Beasley Broadcasting's country WKIS (Kiss Country) Miami has added an HD radio side channel dubbed "Gretchen 99.9," named for country star Gretchen Wilson. To promote her new CD, "All Jacked Up," Wilson is acting as the station's spokesperson.
The commercial-free HD station is being programmed to compliment WKIS by WKIS PD Bob Barnett. The HD station's core artists are Hank Williams Jr., the Charlie Daniels Band, the Allman Brothers, Montgomery Gentry, Lynryd Skynyrd, Travis Tritt, Toby Keith, Wilson and artists the station is describing as "musically inventive, creative outlaws."
"Gretchen 99.9 will embrace the rebel attitude of country, re-inspired by Gretchen Wilson," Barnett said in a prepared statement. "Gretchen 99.9 is for country music fans who aren't afraid to be 'politically uncorrect,' as Wilson herself would say."
"Politically Uncorrect" is a cut on "All Jacked Up," which Wilson performs as a duet with Merle Haggard.
