BAYSHORE BROADCASTING RAISES OVER $25,000 FOR HURRICANE KATRINA SURVIVORS

Bayshore Broadcasting Release

At 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon Bayshore Broadcasting decided we wanted to get our listeners involved in raising funds on behalf of the Canadian Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina survivors. By 11 a.m this morning over $25,000 had been pledged.

Between 6-9 a.m., Marc Butuk, Jim Birchard & Fred Wallace encouraged 560 CFOS (Owen Sound) morning show listeners to pledge over $14,000. This included a $5000 anonymous donation as well as a number of $1000 donations.

Later on this morning, 98 The Beach (Port Elgin) listeners pledged over $11,000 to John Divinski on the Sounding Board. This included a $5000 donation from the Port Elgin Rotary Club.

All pledges go directly to the Red Cross to aid relief efforts in the wake of Hurricame Katrina. A HUGE thanks goes out to our incredible listeners, clients & staff who made this possible on such short notice. This endeavour completely exceeded our expectations.

Donations may still be made at www.redcross.ca.
