SIRIUS CANADA AND SCORE MEDIA TEAM UP TO LAUNCH THE SCORE - CANADA'S FIRST ALL SPORTS SATELLITE RADIO STATION

CNW

Standard Broadcasting and Score Media today announced a partnership to bring Canada its first 24-7 all sports satellite radio channel The Score to SIRIUS Satellite Radio. The Score is the first Canadian sports station on the SIRIUS Canada channel lineup, with an exciting programming format that will deliver on the high expectations which have been set by The Score on television.

SIRIUS provides The Score with an important foothold to serve the sports information needs of Canada's burgeoning satellite radio market. "Canadian sports fans will embrace The Score to quench their thirst for the sports information they want most, where and when they want it," says John Levy, chairman and chief executive officer, Score Media Inc. "Satellite radio will play an increasingly important role in meeting Canadians' information and entertainment needs at home, at work, or on-the-go."

Satellite radio offers strong growth potential in the Canadian market. According to an August 2005 survey of 1,200 Canadians by Veraxis Research and Communications, 22 per cent of Canadian adults say they would be interested in subscribing to a satellite radio service.

"The addition of an all sports Canadian channel reinforces the amazing line up of sports play-by-play and information currently available on SIRIUS throughout North America," said Mark Redmond, President and CEO, SIRIUS Canada. "Adding The Score to our roster of high quality programming helps us serve a growing segment of customers that want the latest sports news on demand."

Standard Broadcasting, a partner in SIRIUS Canada, and Score Media recently came together in an innovative partnership to develop The Score for SIRIUS Canada. "This relationship demonstrates the leadership of both organizations in the ever-changing broadcast environment. We wanted to provide Canadian sports fans with the leading all sports channel and with the success of The Score on television it was a natural evolution," said Gary Slaight, President and CEO, Standard Broadcasting, Partner SIRIUS Canada.

The Score will be included as part of the SIRIUS Canada programming package, which includes access to Canadian and U.S. digital audio channels. The full program schedule, to be announced in the coming weeks, will feature The Score's popular prime time television personalities including Greg Sansone, Steve Kouleas, Sid Seixeiro, Tim Micallef, James Sharman, and Cabbie.
