JACK FORMAT SPAWNS ITS OWN LICENSING COMPANY

FMQB

With the growing popularity of the Jack-FM radio format, an official announcement from Bohn & Associates Media and Wall Media has been made about the two companies joining forces to form SparkNet Communications, the exclusive U.S. licensor and owner of the Jack-FM format. The new company will manage, control and fully integrate all aspects and future initiatives of Jack, including licensing and consulting services.

SparkNet has been in the news recently due to a legal battle with Bonneville International Corporation over the use of the trademarked “playing what we want” slogan on Bonneville stations in Chicago, St. Louis and Phoenix.

"Radio listeners have been crying out for something different - something that features music they love but without being so tightly playlisted as to lose that 'Oh Wow!' factor that comes from hearing a song you weren't expecting to hear," said Co-President Of SparkNet Communications Garry Wall. "The Jack-FM format has given them just that... with a little bit of attitude."

The Jack format first aired with Rogers Broadcasting Ltd. in Vancouver, Canada in December, 2002. Since then, Infinity Broadcasting has adopted the format in nine of its top 40 markets and Jack can be heard on stations in Dallas, Denver, Jackson, Kansas City, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, San Diego, Baltimore, Nashville, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Buffalo, New York and Las Vegas.
