CTV is challenging members of Toronto media outlets to go before Canadian Idol judges in a friendly "Media Idol" competition.
The "Toronto Media Idol Challenge" will crown the first-ever Media Idol on Monday, April 18 at 3 p.m. at the Royal York Hotel. The winner will receive $5,000 for the charity of their choice.
With thousands of Canadian Idol hopefuls in Toronto preparing for auditions in two weeks, familiar personalities from print, radio and television will find out just how it feels to perform in front of the judging panel. Challengers must be members of a reputable media outlet.
The line up of judges includes Farley Flex, Jake Gold, Sass Jordan and Zack Werner.
Although the winner will receive the coveted "Gold Ticket" and a $5,000 prize, all participants are encouraged to generate pledges in advance for their favourite charity for "daring" to go in front of the Judges.
CFTO's entertainment reporter, Jacintha Wesselingh, and CHUM FM's Meg Tucker have already signed on for the challenge.
Media outlets are invited to bring their cameras, tape recorders and notepads to record their auditions. The event will be taped for broadcast for Season Three of Canadian Idol.
